Posting as per Morgan's request. I've not been up to much except school stuff and video games. A quick list:
- Wednesdays are awful. I cannot stress this enough.
- Borderlands 2 is giving me so many feels. I am nearly at the end, and oh my god. I think...I think it may have done the impossible for real. I think it just took BioShock's place as my most favorite game ever. I know I said I thought it might a week ago to some of you, but after that mission last night....Holy shit. I have never had a game fuck with my feels like that before.
- My OCD is experiencing an upsurge in inconvenience. Hopefully it'll knock it off soon.
- Writing another novel (maybe I'll finish it? hahaha what am I saying) for my lit class.
- Speaking of writing, got a few things in the works with Mouse. We'll see where it goes!
- I can't wait for winter break (Morgan returns! Everyone returns! HOBBITS!)
And that's...pretty much it. Would appreciate some Autumn-appropriate musics, por favor, and some reading recommendations. Is anyone else on Goodreads? Get on Goodreads. Friend me. Send me recommendations. DO IT.
The Violet Hour by the Civil Wars~
HOBBITSSSSS.
ReplyDeleteLondon has been decked out in Borderlands 2 ads since before I got here; I think of you, Trisha, Jen, and Servos whenever I see them.
And god that sucks about Wednesdays.
Also, I demand details on Your Novel and Yours and Trisha's Story. Please and thank you?
I know how you feel with the scheduling thing. My Thursdays are terrible.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I do look forward to hearing more about this novel eh?
Yes? Yes
I enjoyed the story for Borderlands 2 immensely, but I was already very emotionally attached to the series to begin with and it was SUCH an improvement from the first game that I was automatically thrilled. They definitely fleshed out the characters more, and the plot line eased the pain of the last game's ending considerably, if you ask me. Did you play the first game (AND it's DLCs, because those actually had more of a story than the main game did? Well, except Mad Moxxi's Underdome. You can skip that one. I sure as hell did). I'd go into more detail about why the second game did a better job, but not everyone who cares has finished it yet and I don't want to risk posting anything remotely spoiler-y.
ReplyDeleteAlso the three movie thing is bullshit. I can't think of any reason why they would do that... I mean. It wasn't a long book. It's not Lord of the Fucking Rings. It's the prequel. Hobbit has wizard buddy. Wizard buddy shows up with Dwarf buddies. All the buddies force Hobbit on an adventure, which he enjoys despite himself. There is an incident with mutton (and trolls). A creepy dude with a ring. A dragon. Elves and shit. I can see maaaybe two movies. I cannot see three. That's like cutting the Deathly Hallows into two movies. Totally unnecessary, because everyone KNOWS the first movie is just going to be an extended camping trip. The second movie is when shit gets real!
And that is how I feel.
But it's still the same guy who did LOTR, right? He did a pretty good job. Some shit in the Two Towers could've been cut, methinks, and it was definitely the weakest of the three, but then, I think the book itself was the weakest of the three, so there you have it. And he *was* fairly true to the books...
I played bits and pieces of the first one. Not enough to know too much of the story line, but enough to know how it ended and why everyone was all ">:C"
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm not too attached to any of the characters though, which is probably a huge influence on liking, well, anything.
Also I really liked the extended versions of the LoTR movies. I can't think of much that should have really been cut. More like stuff that should have been added, like Tom Bombadil.
I heard that the director dude is trying to flesh out the characters more. Like there are people playing various wood elves, and we will get to know them. I also imagine one movie will be focused on Gandalf's separate adventure and his whole necromancy dealings, considering Radagast has been cast for the movie and (to my knowledge?) does not appear in the book.
I am both excited and so nervous though. Two movies was great. Three movies might fuck shit up...
